Around the Granite State: Goffstown field hockey picks up win over Sanborn (video)

GOFFSTOWN - Ava Jones scored two goals Thursday to help lead the Goffstown High School field hockey team to a 3-1 win over Sanborn.

Kendall Dubois added a goal and an assist for the Grizzlies (5-4) and Avery Brisiel recorded an assist in the win. Molly Bracia and Madison Brown combined for the win in goal.

Abbie Lucas had the lone goal for the Indians (3-5-1) while Jade Dutton made 15 saves.

Jones scored what proved to be the game-winner moments after Lucas had scored to tie the game at 1 late in the first half. The junior added her second goal in the fourth quarter to give the Grizzlies some breathing room.

Kingswood 4, Souhegan 0

The Knights scored two goals in each half to get the win over the Sabers. Caleb Russo made five saves for Kingswood (9-2) while Finnegan Daly had seven saves for Souhegan (1-8).
