Around the Granite State: Goffstown field hockey hangs on to beat Londonderry

GOFFSTOWN - Maeve Hammond scored midway through the third quarter and the Goffstown High School field hockey team held on for a 1-0 win Thursday night over Londonderry.

Trinity Lunn picked up an assist on the goal, as her initial shot got through the pads of Lancers goalie Molly Tharrington, and Hammond was there to knock in the loose ball with 8:47 remaining in the third.

Hope Moulton finished with 20 saves for the Grizzlies (4-8-2), who had just one penalty corner.

Tharrington recorded three saves for Londonderry (7-6-1, No. 9 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll), which had eight corners.

Exeter 3, Nashua South 0

Amelia Faria and Amalia Gloss combined to get the shutout in goal as the Blue Hawks picked up a win over the Panthers.

Emma Amarosa, Emma Cummings and Callan Myers each had a goal for Exeter (7-6), which has won three of its last four.

Lilly Hurd recorded 11 saves for South (4-10-1) while Aubrey Rose, Maddie Langer, Sofia Forti and Emme Christian also played well.

Plymouth 3, Milford 0

The Bobcats got a goal and an assist from Ella Duchette in a road win over the Spartans.

Jill Rubbe and Aaliyah Muzzey also had a goal apiece for Plymouth (8-4-1) and Carmen Donis finished with four saves.

Norah Cardin recorded 14 saves for Milford (4-9-1).
