Around the Granite State: Girls Lacrosse Semifinal Roundup

The third-seeded Derryfield School girls lacrosse team punched its ticket back to the Division III championship game with a 10-6 win over No. 2 Kearsarge on Saturday in the semifinals at Laconia High School.

Olivia Strong had five goals and three assists and Lucy Licata also finished with five goals for the Cougars (13-3), who led 5-3 at halftime. Sydney Socha also had two assists.

Shawna Lesmerises made nine saves while Jess Carr, Lauren MacLean, Karla Meschkat, Leah Hoey, Julia Tilton and Charlotte Rohlfs played well defensively.

Kearsarge (13-4) got three goals from Emilie Webster and two scored from Megan Norris.

No. 1 Hopkinton 14, No. 4 Bow 5

The Hawks (16-0) advanced to the final for the second year in a row thanks to a big game from Ellie Morrall.

Morrall scored five goals to lead Hopkinton, which played most of the game without Lyndon Flanagan after she picked up two yellow cards early in the game. Amelia Bassett added two goals and an assist.

Bow (12-4) got two goals from Charlotte Ulrich in the loss.

Hopkinton and Derryfield will play in the D3 championship game Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Southern New Hampshire University.

Division I Semifinals

No. 3 Bishop Guertin 10, No. 2 Bedford 9

The Cardinals (18-2) started fast and goalie Makenna Reekie came up big in the final moments to send the defending champs back to the title game.

Abigail Ahearn led Bishop Guertin with four goals and Emily Santom added two of her own while Madison Keating, Amelia Piercy, Natalie Coutu and Lindsay Hult had a goal apiece. Reekie finished with seven saves, including one with under a minute to play and the Cardinals up by one.

Bedford (16-2) got three goals apiece from Hannah McCarthy and Sydney Lynch. Mackenzie MacEachern, Chamberlain Bell and Riley Chou added a goal apiece.

No. 1 Pinkerton 16, No. 4 Souhegan 5

Madison Daziel scored five goals to help lead the Astros to the title game for the first time since 2016.

Pinkerton (19-1) led 12-3 at halftime and also got three goals apiece from Kiley Davis and Lily Auger. Abby Jowett and Lauren Lisauskas added two goals apiece while Zoe Howe had a goal and two assists and Hailey Peredna had three assists.

Clare Woodford, Taylor Clark, Hannah Rowe, Abby Hawkes and Savannah Behn had a goal apiece for Souhegan (14-4).

Pinkerton and Bishop Guertin will meet in the D1 title game at 7 p.m. Wednesday at SNHU.

Division II Semifinals

No. 3 Winnacunnet 15, No. 2 Hollis Brookline 9

The Warriors avenged last year's semifinal loss to the Cavaliers with a comeback win this time around.

Brooke McErlain had nine goals to lead Winnacunnet (14-5) while Ali McNamara had three goals and Keelyn McNamara added two.

Tasha White had three goals for HB (14-3) and Paisely Broadhurst scored twice.

No. 1 Portsmouth 20, No. 4 Windham 4

The Clippers returned to the title game for the fourth year in a row with a dominating performance against the Jaguars, scoring 20 or more goals for the sixth time this season.

Anna Smith and Sallie Squire led the way with six goals apiece for the Clippers (18-2).

Portsmouth and Winnacunnet will play in the D2 championship game at 7 p.m. Tuesday at SNHU.
