Around the Granite State: Girls Lacrosse Quarterfinal Roundup
The top-seeded Bishop Guertin High School girls lacrosse team got goals from eight players Wednesday on the way to a 21-5 win over No. 8 Exeter in the Division I quarterfinals.
Rylee Bouvier had five goals and three assists and Nat Coutu had five goals and an assist, including the 100th goal of her high school career. Arianna Kouchalakas had three goals and an assist while Tess Prunier had two goals and two assists.
Steph Reap had two goals and one helper and Lauren Redfern had a goal and two helpers while Deb Moyer had two goals. Katie Campel added a goal and Anna Campel had an assist.
Katie Campel won 16 draw controls, helping the Cardinals (15-1) got 18 of 26 on the day. Maddy Hartstock played well defensively while Makenna Reekie and Maddy Eder-Linell each had one save.
Bishop Guertin advances to the semifinals, where it will face No. 4 Souhegan at 7 p.m. Saturday in Exeter.
No. 3 Pinkerton 17, No. 6 Dover 2
The Astros outscored the Green Wave 10-1 in the second half on the way to a quarterfinal victory.
Hailey Schnider led Pinkerton (14-3) with five goals while Allison Lamphere scored four times and Caitlyn Seleny had a goal and six assists. Hannah Lisauskas added two goals and four assists.
Tate Howe also scored twice while Elise Saab and Lilly Jeans had a goal apiece. Lauren Sweeney made seven saves and Sara DiClemente had two stops.
Pinkerton will take on No. 2 Bedford in the semifinals at 5 p.m. Saturday at Exeter.
Division II
No. 3 Hollis Brookline 18, No. 6 Goffstown 5
Paige Mello scored seven goals and had an assist to help lead the Cavaliers to a quarterfinal win over the Grizzlies.
Alyssa Hill added four goals and six assists for HB (14-4) while Kaitlyn Castriotta had three goals and Bella Haytayan and Sabrina Hill each had two goals. Abbie Ogren also played well for the Cavs.
HB moves on to the semifinals, where it will face No. 2 Hanover on Saturday in Nashua.
No. 1 Portsmouth 18, No. 8 Winnacunnet 4
Avery Ruhnke and Maggie MacDonald each had three goals to lead the Clippers (17-2) to a quarterfinals victory over the Warriors.
Charlotte Marston, Julia Roelofs, Mia Smith, Annie Parker and Morgan Ruhnke added two goals apiece while Skye Macleod and Sally Collins also scored.
The Clippers will take on No. 4 Windham in the semifinals Saturday in Nashua.
Division III
No. 1 Bow 19, No. 6 Pelham 6
Alex Larrabee had four goals and two assists to lead the Falcons (15-1) to a playoff win over the Pythons.
Olivia Selleck added four goals while Jessica Chamberlin had three scores and Maia Kimball had her first playoff goal. Elena Roy made six saves for Bow.
The Falcons will face No. 4 Derryfield in the semifinals, starting at 7 p.m. Saturday in Laconia.
No. 2 Hopkinton 20, No. 7 St. Thomas 10
Madeline Zahn scored four goals and had five assists while Hannah Hoyt also had four goals and dished out four assists as the Hawks (14-1) advanced with a win over the Saints.
Rose Finlayson added five goals and an assist while Sarah Chodosh had two goals and two assists and Annie Higginbotham recorded three goals. Olivia Casey also had two goals and Anika Hudak-Hall made six saves.
Hopkinton will take on No. 3 Gilford in the semifinals at 5 p.m. Saturday in Laconia.
