Around the Granite State: Dover field hockey gets past Pinkerton (video)

DERRY - Rylen Gray scored on a penalty corner in the third quarter Wednesday and the Dover High School field hockey team held off Pinkerton Academy for a 1-0 win.

Audrey Carter assisted on the goal, as her reverse hit was knocked up in the air and Gray was able to settle the ball near the post before hitting it across the line with 3:13 left to go before the fourth.

Hayley Tosh made six saves for the Green Wave (8-3, No. 8 in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll) while Elise LeBlanc made 18 stops for the Astros (4-6). Anna Perkins also played well for Pinkerton.

Londonderry 2, Salem 0

Meghan Daileanes scored two goals to help lead the Lancers past the Blue Devils.

Ava Windisch and Kenzie Urquhart each had an assist for Londonderry.

No. 10 Concord 3, Man. Central-West 2

Katelyn Dudley had two goals but it wasn't enough for Central-West against the Crimson Tide.

Alyssa Bonia and Colleen Stankiewicz each had an assist while Chloe Gilroy made 13 saves. Catie Fenchel and Armani Holmes also played well.

No. 4 Bedford 8, Nashua South 0

Kaitlyn Tello made 30 saves for the Panthers but they came up short against the Bulldogs.

Maddie Berthiaume, Brady Murray and Ava Foss played well for South.

Girls Volleyball

Hollis Brookline 3, Portsmouth 1

The Cavaliers improved to 8-1 with the win over the Clippers. Scores were 25-8, 25-16, 21-25 and 25-13.

Cheyenne Colbert led the way for HB with 18 kills and five blocks and Annette Schlunk had 13 kills. Gwynn Thomas recorded three aces and nine assists while Sophie Jordan had 24 assists and Maia Schneider had 20 digs.

Prospect Mountain 3, Portsmouth Christian 0

The Eagles were swept in a road match, by scores of 25-20, 25-11 and 25-13.

Liahna Messier led PCA with five kills, three aces and 15 digs and Alex Griffin added five kills. Kailey Holt had 16 assists and Heidi Geyer chipped in with four kills while Emily Esters had nine digs.
