Around the Granite State: Derryfield boys lacrosse holds off Merrimack (video)

The Derryfield School boys lacrosse team held off a late charge by Merrimack for an 11-10 win on Saturday.

Chili Cabot led the Cougars (6-0, No. 4 in the NHHSS Coaches Poll) with three goals and two assists and Ryan Etzo added three goals and an assist. Alex Murray added a goal and two assists while Cole Giersch and Quinn Silvio each had a goal and an assist.

Chas Dean and Colby Muise had a goal each while Ryan Caparelli and Liam Hill had seven assists apiece.

Merrimack (2-4) got three goals and an assist from Matt Todd while Jason Hostler and Connor Lanigan each had two goals. Kyle Dunn, Steven Petz and Dylan Sadowski had a goal each and Jake Trahan added an assist. Alex Griffin made six saves.

Portsmouth 4, Timberlane 2

The Clippers improved to 6-0 after their second win over the Owls on Wednesday.

Mike O'Neil had a goal and an assist while Houston Heidenger, Dylan Roelofs and Mike Durkin had a goal apiece. Nick Smith added an assist and went 8 for 10 on faceoffs.

Skyler Mikalietes made eight saves for Portsmouth and Nate Amend added two.

Braidon Bowman scored for Timberlane (2-5).

Coe-Brown 18, Bow 10

The Bears picked up their first win over the Falcons on Tuesday. David Lee led the way with two goals and seven assists.

Wells Lambert had five goals and an assist and Landon Rafael added three goals and a helper for Coe-Brown. Drew Clinch had two goals and two assists while Connor Joy had two goals.

Aaron Bono, Tully Keefe and Connor Strum added a goal and an assist apiece. Alex Knight added a goal and James Thomas made 13 saves. Aidan Lindsey, Jack Whitcher, Matt LeBrecque and DJ Brady played well defensively.
