Around the Granite State: Bishop Guertin boys lacrosse rolls past Londonderry (video)

The Bishop Guertin High Schools boys lacrosse team went on an 8-0 run to break open a close game and rolled past Londonderry 18-6 in a Division I game on Thursday.

Jon Krikorian had five goals and an assist while Declan Wilkie had four goals and two assists and Nick McGovern had two goals and four assists. Michael Kiely added three goals and two assists while Aiden Laurendeau had three goals and Tim Kiely had one for the Cardinals (2-0, No. 1 in NHHSS Coaches Poll).

Aidan Ahearn had two assists, while John Sullivan, Connor Guibord and Dawson Clark each had an assist. Zach Connerty made five saves, Dylan Steward had three and Will Murphy had one.

Londonderry (0-2, No. 5) got two goals from Jack Kester while Hunter Smith had a goal and an assist. Cole Duarte, Josh DeFranzo and Brandon Savage had a goal apiece while Aidan Dennis had two assists.

Isaac McCune, Zac Fawcett and Aiden O'Loughlin each had an assist. Tim Breau and Robert Doucet each made four saves.

The Lancers scored two goals in less than a minute to make it a 4-2 Cardinals lead, but they scored twice in the final 19 seconds of the first quarter and added six more before halftime to lead 12-2.

Both teams are back in action on Tuesday, as Londonderry hosts Merrimack and Bishop Guertin hosts Pinkerton.

Exeter 16, Nashua South 8

Spencer Clark had six goals and two assists to lead the Blue Hawks (2-0, No. 2) to the win over the Panthers (0-2, No. 6).

Aiden Drunsic had three goals and five assists and Hayden Lechner also had three goals for Exeter.

Drew Fleury had three goals and Connor Roswell scored twice. Nate Campbell, Griffin Johnson and Sam Fletcher had a goalie each. Aidan Walsh won 18 of 24 faceoffs and Colin Sewade made his first start in goal after starter Ethan Johnson was injured before the game.

South returns to the field Saturday at 11 a.m against Timberlane. Exeter heads to Souhegan on Tuesday.

Winnacunnet 7, Timberlane 6 (3OT)

Ben Chase scored a little more than a minute into the third overtime to lift the Warriors (2-0, No. 8) win over the Owls (0-2, AVR).

Jack Ellis had two goals for the Warriors, who trailed 3-0 in the second quarter, while Colin Kimball, James O'Hara, Ben Merrick and Cole Fisher also had a goal apiece.

Nick Matthews and Eric George had two goals apiece for Timberlane while Ethan Gerry and Braidon Bowman also scored.

Gilford 10, Laconia 4

After the Sachems won by a goal on Tuesday, the Eagles came back for the win on the road on Thursday.

Cole Roy had two goals and an assist for Laconia and Evan Carignan also scored twice. Cam Harriman made 19 saves.

Gilford got two goals and three assists from Cole DeHart and Tristan Reinhold had four goals. Colin McGreevy had 20 saves.

Bedford 4, Concord 3

After allowing 20 goals to the Bulldogs on Tuesday, the Crimson Tide held Bedford to just four on Thursday. Sam Nichol had two goals for Concord and Danny O'Brien also scored.

Souhegan 15, Keene 6 (Wednesday)

Riley Lawhorn had four goals and five assists to lead the Sabers to a win in their opener.

Danny Quan added three goals and two assists and Alex Karpawich had three goals. Connor Holland had two goals while Brady Crowe, Aidan Lawrence and Owen Nolek had a goal apiece.

Nate Fritz made nine saves for the Sabers (1-0, No. 9) while Zach Bartlett was 17 of 22 on faceoffs and Tony Garrant was 3 for 3.

Girls Lacrosse

Pinkerton 19, Salem 2

The Astros got five goals and three assists from Caroline Daziel as they swept the Blue Devils this week.

Ali Lamphere also had four goals and four assists and Abby Jowett scored four goals and picked up three assists. Amy Quigley had two goals and an assist while Justine Doyle had a goal and an assist and Tatum Howe and Catilyn Seleny each had a goal.

Peyton Knowlton got her first varsity goal while Emma Madsen had her first varsity assists. Lauren Sweeney made three saves while Naomi Menczywor had two saves.

Nashua South 14, Manchester Central 0

Audrey Mullaney and Keira Walsh split time in goal to help the Panthers pick up their second shutout of the Little Green.

Ella Benzekri had two goals and three assists for South while Soleil Dubois, Kaitlyn West and Olivia Johnson each had two goals and an assist. Kylie Dawe had a goal and five draw controls while Bella Walsh, Maya Rioux, Morgan Preston, Nessa Reeder and Morgan Udzanovich each had a goal.

Jenna Hamelin and Bailey Carroll also played well for South.

Bishop Guertin 15, Londonderry 3

The Lancers got goals from Jenna Stowell, Caroline Leone and Kiara Edmonds in their second loss to the Cardinals this week.

Bishop Guertin got five goals from Rylee Bouvier and three from Madison Keating.

Hollis Brookline 17, Campbell 3 (Wednesday)

Alyssa Hill scored six goals in her first varsity game to help the Cavaliers to a win over the Cougars.

Abbey Magnuszewski added five goals while Bella Haytayan and Cailean Roy had two goals and an assist each, as they were also getting their first varsity action. Brooke Allanach and Kaitlyn Castriotta also had a goal each.

Abbie Ogren, Nichole Heiter and Mack Jusczak each had an assist while Hallie Bardani and Elizabeth Rutledge played well in goal. Ellie Maxwell, Morgan Broadhurst and Sammy Atlas played well defensively.

Boys Volleyball

Hollis Brookline 3, Bishop Guertin 0

The Cavaliers were able to come back in the first two sets and then run away with the third. Game scores were 25-22, 25-20 and 25-9.

Jake Laborde had 14 kills for HB and Brian Szewczyk had four kills and four blocks. Matt Kelley had five kills and Max Marshall had 34 assists while Liam Troddyn recorded 10 digs.

Bishop Guertin led 10-5 in the opening set and 14-7 in the second before the Cavs came back to win both.

HB plays at Windham on Monday while Bishop Guertin hosts Souhegan on Tuesday.
