Around the Granite State: Bedford girls lacrosse rolls to win over Souhegan (video)

AMHERST - The Bedford High School girls lacrosse team scored early and often Monday, scoring 10 goals in the game's first 10 minutes, on the way to a 17-4 victory over Souhegan.

Madeline Kiely led the Bulldogs (7-1, No. 2 in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll) with four goals and Regan O'Brien had two goals and three assists. Olivia Matthews added three goals and an assist while Sydney Grogan, Eliana Enners and Audrey Purnell each had two goals and an assist.

Natalie Dennon also scored twice for Bedford and Libby Norris recorded an assist. Abigail Weidner made six saves.

Emma Kennedy scored two goals and had an assist for Souhegan (2-4, No. 7) while Natalie Heimarck had a goal and an assist. Lyla Hawkes also had a goal for the Sabers.

The teams wore special white and blue jerseys for the game, in support of the One Love Foundation, a non-profit organization with the goal of ending relationship abuse.

No. 3 Bishop Guertin 14, No. 4 Nashua South 5

Tess Prunier had six goals and three assists to lead the Cardinals past the Panthers.

Kyra O'Connell added two goals and an assist and Lauren Redfern had a goal and two assists while Anna Campel also scored twice for Bishop Guertin. Arianna Kouchalakos had a goal and an assist while Kam Schmitt and Abby Lyn recorded a goal apiece.

Ella Benzekri led South with three goals while Karina O'Donnell and Morgan Udzanovich had a goal apiece. Maren Lowell and Maddy Matylewski each had an assist and Keira Walsh made five saves.

No. 8 Pinkerton 17, Merrimack 6

Hailey Schnider had six goals and two assists to lead the Astros to the win over the Tomahawks.

Bella Pinardi also recorded six goals and had an assist while Hannah Lisauskas had a big game with two goals and five assists. Piper Knowlton also scored twice and Lily Jeans added a goal while Sara DiClemente made eight saves.

No. 9 Windham 21, Timberlane 11

Maria Killian found the back of the net six times and had an assist for the Jaguars, as they got a win over the Owls.

Emma Kendzulak added five goals and an assist and Chloe Hall had four goals and two assists. Sophia Ponzini scored twice and had an assist and Darby Madden added two goals, while Mia Gallinelli had a goal and an assist. Ella Gallinelli also had a goal and Annie Mitchell made 11 saves.

Lily Brien, Maia Parker and Becca Silva each scored three goals for Timberlane. Ella Lampron and Alexis Hornsby added a goal apiece.

Hollis Brookline 18, John Stark-Hillsboro-Deering 3

Paige Mello led the way for the Cavaliers with six goals and two assists against the General-Cats.

Alyssa Hill added four goals and three assists and Sabrina Hill also had four goals to go with one helper. Juliette Ogren (assist), Bella Haytayan, Elise Broadhurst and Daniella Allenach also had a goal apiece.

Cailean Roy had two assists and Addy Dougherty made seven saves.

Derryfield 18, Kearsarge 3

The Cougars got five goals and two assists from Alex Benson as they picked up a win over the Cougars.

Lilly Handwerk added four goals and Chloe Bremberg had three goals and an assist. Teagan Peabody chipped in two goals and two assists while Kira Geddess also had two goals.

Courtney Wold and Phoebe Handwerk each scored a goal while Christine Nadeau had two assists and Laurie Best had one. Lily Kfoury made six saves.

Boys Lacrosse

No. 1 Bishop Guertin 19, Nashua South 0

The Cardinals scored eight goals in the first quarter on the way to a bounce-back win over the Panthers.

Micah Dunsmoor scored three goals to lead Bishop Guertin while Carter Jozokos had a goal and three assists and Caleb Yeung had a goal and two assists. Owen King and Michael Ponto added two goals and an assist apiece.

Michael Matuszewski, Ryan Lokken and AJ Rasmussen scored two goals each and Kyle Mach had a goal and an assist. Emerson Warren, Riley Gwinn and Will Thompson also had a goal each.

Connor Hughes, Hudson Schmitt and Jackson Lavasseur had two assists apiece and Liam Connerty, Dylan Lokken, Sean McGarry and Jeremy Warren added an assist each. Will Murphy, Liam O'Keefe and Michael MacDonough combined for four saves.

Bow 11, Milford 3

Chuck Urda had two goals but it wasn't enough for the Spartans against the Falcons.

Ryan Arseneau also had a goal for Milford while Justin Desmarais had an assist. James Brew made 22 saves and Dartagnan Boudreau played well defensively.

Campbell 9, Bishop Brady 3

The Giants fell on the road to the Cougars despite getting two goals from Joey Richardson.

Alex King also scored for Bishop Brady, which trailed 3-1 at halftime, while Tucker Townsend won seven faceoffs.

Pelham 8, Coe-Brown 3

Ryan Matson had a goal and an assist for the Bears but they fell to the Pythons. Jack Matson made nine saves in goal.
