Around the Granite State: Pelham field hockey gets win over Monadnock
Here are results from Thursday's high school field hockey action.
Caitlin Detellis scored the game's only goal to help the Pelham High School field hockey team to a 1-0 win Thursday over Monadnock.
Detellis scored for the Pythons (2-6) on a penalty corner after time had expired. Lyla Prince also played well offensive while Cailyn Macintyre was strong in the midfield and Hayden Scribner led the defense.
No. 8 Hanover 5, Milford 0
The Bears picked up the road win over the Spartans, getting goals from Sophia and Greta Mancini and Joia Collins.
Norah Cardin had 31 saves for Milford (2-7) while Raiyne Bailey, Nadia Dutton and Allie Carson played well defensively. Paige Bernier and Lea Lyons were strong in the midfield and Lily Webster, Charlotte Dutton and Calleigh Krycki led the attack for the Spartans.
Mascenic 8, Laconia 2
Reese Alix and Hailey Saari had two goals and an assist apiece to lead the Vikings to a road win over the Sachems.
Iris Traffie added two goals and Kiahna Farrey had two assists for Mascenic while Grace Matson and Eden Traffi also had a goal each. Lily Alix and Ellie Haavisto each chipped in with an assist.
No. 1 Winnacunnet 6, Exeter 0
The Warriors improved to 8-0 on the season with the win over the Blue Hawks.
Fiona McAfee led the way for Winnacunnet with three goals while Sofia Donatelli scored twice and Megan Kelly also had a goal.
