Around the Granite State: Wednesday's Roundup
The Pinkerton Academy girls volleyball team picked up its second win of the season with a sweep of Manchester Central on Wednesday. Scores were 25-11, 25-6 and 25-11.
Amelia Graves led the way with 17 kills, 17 digs and eight aces while Brooke Kane added 11 kills and three blocks.
Sara Metzger had 36 assists, five digs and four aces and Kiley Davis chipped in with 10 aces and two digs. Ella Dandrade also had eight digs, six kills, three blocks and an ace and Reese Asselin had 16 digs and five aces.
Pittsfield 3, Portsmouth Christian 0
The Eagles came up short against the Panthers by scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-21 and 25-19.
Kendra Leavitt had 10 kills, nine digs, five aces and a block for PCA (1-1) while Maddy Jordan added seven kills and Cayleigh MacLeod recorded 20 assists. Alicia O'Neil also had seven digs.
John Stark 3, ConVal 1
The Cougars dropped a four-game match to the Generals in their home opener by scores of 25-20, 25-13, 24-26 and 25-18.
Riley Codman led ConVal (0-2) with nine kills and five assists and Joanna Adams had seven assists. Mary Grossi had 19 digs and Jaylyn Desrosier added 14 digs while Lilly James had nine digs and Morgan Stacy chipped in with eight digs.
