Around the Granite State: Wednesday's Roundup
The Bishop Guertin High School field hockey team picked up its third win in a row with a 2-0 victory over Salem on Wednesday.
Sarah Coyle put the Cardinals (11-1) on the board in the first half and assisted on a goal by Katie Lupo. Makena Leazer made eight saves in goal for Bishop Guertin's fifth shutout of the season.
Girls Volleyball
Nashua South 3, Timberlane 1
The Panthers bounced back from a loss on Monday with a win over the Owls.
Paige Garland led South (9-3) with 10 kills and three aces while Kara Kelliher had nine kills and nine digs. Anna Campbell added 35 assists.
Bishop Guertin 3, Keene 0
The Cardinals got a sweep of the Blackbirds, winning by scores of 25-20, 25-13 and 25-12.
Mariana Gomez had nine digs, including the 1,000th of her career, and also recorded six kills and five aces. Julia Pascucci had 13 assists and eight kills while Paola Matos added six digs and five aces and Rita Dow had five kills and two blocks.
Hollis Brookline 3, Londonderry 0
The Cavaliers kept their perfect record in tact with a sweep of the Lancers. Scores were 25-12, 25-9 and 25-11.
Megan Cochran had eight service points while Kaleigh Whalen added four aces and Maren Anderson chipped in with five kills. Kenzie Powers recorded eight assists and Ashley Burtt (one block) and Amanda Elvins each had two kills.
Inter-Lakes 3, Franklin 0
The Lakers improved to 10-0 on the year with a sweep of the Golden Tornadoes.
Jessalyn Brown had 14 service points and 20 assists, including sets to 11 different teammates, while Emma Wheeler had five kills and seven service points. Catie Leberman added seven points and a kill, Delaney Smith chipped in with four kills and Morgan White had seven service points and two kills.
Epping 3, Trinity 0
The Blue Devils swept the Pioneers to improve to 6-5 on the year. Scores were 25-16, 25-17 and 25-16.
Gabi Hughes led the way with 18 digs, seven kills, four aces and an assist and Anna Re had eight digs, seven kills and two aces. Belle Snyder chipped in with six digs, three blocks, three kills and two aces and Oakley Lustenberger had 18 assists, three digs, two aces and a kill.
ConVal 3, Pelham 1
The Cougars were able to knock off the Pythons in four by scores of 25-11, 25-16, 19-25 and 25-10.
Emma Golden had four kills for ConVal and Mary Grossi added three while Michele Hartwell had nine aces and Jaylyn Desrosiers had five. Joanna Adams recorded seven assists and Sydney Crete had two while Lilly James chipped in with 10 digs.
