Around the Granite State: Friday's Roundup
The Pelham High School boys lacrosse team picked up a win in its season opener, beating Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough 13-5 in Division III action.
Jacoby Pratt led the way for the Pythons with five goals while Shawn McAdam had three goals and an assist and Charlie Katin had two goals and two assists.
Ian Morgenstern and Devyn Tucci also had a goal each and Manny Baisely and Brett Lindsay played well defensively.
Portsmouth 11, John Stark 7
The Clippers got out to a seven-goal lead in the third quarter and withstood a rally by the Generals to improve to 2-0 on the year. Ollie Allen led Portsmouth with five goals and Zadoc White added three scores.
Drew McQuarrie had two goals and two assists from John Stark (0-2), while Kayden Easter (assist) and Aidean Moser had two goals apiece. Parker McQuarrie also scored for the Generals.
Oyster River 8, Goffstown 6
The Bobcats outscored the Grizzlies 5-2 in the second half to rally for their first win of the season.
Max Litchfield led the way for Oyster River (1-1) with three goals and an assist and Max Stenslie added two goals. Troy LaPolice (assist), Sam Davies and Parker Spinney added a goal apiece and Liam McNamara made eight saves.
Goffstown (0-1) got a goal and assist each from Max Lajeunesse, Ben O'Brien and Devin Young. Nick Nault and Connor Chapdelaine also scored while Peyton Bickford had an assist and Finn Grant made 13 saves.
Kearsarge 19, Milford 6
Justin Norris scored seven goals to lead the Cougars (2-0) past the Spartans in Division III action.
Milford (1-1) got three goals from Cam O'Shaughnessy while Ben Noble (assist), Owen Clary and Jakob Fantasia added a goal apiece.
Gavin Urda chipped in with an assist and Tim Gagnone made 10 saves. Maverick Dodier and Josh also played well for Milford.
Hollis Brookline 8, Keene 7
Anthony Tamposi scored three goals to lead the Cavaliers to a season-opening win on the road. HB (1-0) takes on Windham, also on the road, on Tuesday.
