A Special Way to Honor the Class of 2020
The cancellation of the 2020 spring high school sports season has led to flood of different emotions.
Anger. Frustration. Sadness. Disappointment.
No one deserves to feel that way more than this year's seniors, who through no fault of their own will miss out on a number of things to end the school year, including an opportunity to put their team's jersey on one more time.
This was shaping up to be another special year of lacrosse in New Hampshire, and there were plenty of seniors looking to finish off their high school careers with a bang, and there were plenty of matchups between teams that we were all looking forward to seeing.
I've been trying to think of ways to honor those seniors and the seasons that could have been, and I think I've found a good way. For the remainder of the spring, I'll be continuing to put together stories about what could have been in 2020, while also keeping an eye on what is ahead for players who will be returning in 2021.
And this spring, as a special something for lacrosse players who are graduating, I'm offering to put together a Senior Page. It will be a page that contains a photo of the player, along with stats and other information from high school, plans for next year, and any other pertinent information.
Since we are all in uncharted territory here, I have no idea how this is going to go, so for now, there will be a limited number of pages available. You can reserve yours by going here and filling out your information.
As I've done in previous seasons, I also plan to put together a Lacrosse Yearbook, which will contain the stories from this spring, along with the Preseason Watch List and all of the Senior Pages.
Check out the link above and feel free to pass along any feedback to nhhighschoolsports@gmail.com. Stay safe and healthy, and keep practicing for next season.
