A look at some of the top performers in New Hampshire football in 2015

Here are our choices for Player of the Year and Coach of the Year from all three football divisions.

Division I

Player of the Year: Connor Bourque, Goffstown

Bourque was the offensive spark plug for the Grizzlies' championship season, rushing for 1,560 yards and 26 touchdowns. He also had two touchdowns receiving and two on kickoff returns for a total of 30 scores, which included a seven-touchdown performance against Manchester Central. Perhaps what's most remarkable about those totals is the number of times Bourque came out of games at halftime with Goffstown already well ahead.

Coach of the Year: Dante Laurendi, Nashua North

There were a lot of great coaching performances in the division this season. Kevin Fitzgerald got Timberlane back to the postseason. Kip Jackson turned in a winning year at Merrimack. Justin Hufft led Goffstown to an undefeated season. But Laurendi was able to take a North program that won 13 games from 2011-14 and went 7-4 and reached the postseason for the first time since 2010.

Division II

Player of the Year: Stephen Hedberg, St. Thomas

Hedberg, who set a state record as a junior with 35 touchdown passes, helped lead the Saints to an undefeated title in his senior. The quarterback finished the season completing 60 percent of his passes for 2,242 yards with 30 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He threw for six of those touchdowns in the first two rounds of the playoffs, and like Bourque, was often out of games at halftime.

Coach of the Year: Bill Raycraft, Windham

This could have been a rebuilding year for the Jaguars after they lost a lot of talent from a championship team. But Windham remained steady, despite playing the final four games of the season without its starting quarterback, and Raycraft's crew came very close to winning a second straight title.

Division III

Player of the Year: Noah Wade, Newport

Wade, a senior, was the state's leading rusher with 1,829 yards on the ground this season. Almost 40 percent of those yards came in the postseason, when Wade rushed for 718 yards in three games, including 274 in the championship game. The running back added 15 touchdowns in the playoffs.

Coach of the Year: Larry McElreavy, Newport

In McElreavy's two seasons, the Tigers have advanced to the championship game in both years, with their only two losses coming to Campbell. This season, Newport was solid in all three phases of the game. The Tigers averaged 43.7 points on offense and allowed 14 or more points twice all year, with both coming against Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough.
