A look at the first day of the Coaches For A Cause Basketball Jamboree

Here's a look at the action from the first day of the Coaches For A Cause Basketball Jamboree, which was held at Londonderry High School.

Lebanon 63, Londonderry 58

The Raiders were able to hold the Lancers off down the stretch, closing out the game with a 7-2 run to win the finale of the first day of the jamboree.

The game featured 14 lead changes – seven of which came in the third quarter – and neither team led by more than six points at any point.

KJ Matte led Lebanon with 21 points, including three 3-pointers and was 6 for 6 from the free throw line. Greg Roberge added 10 points and Graham Chickering chipped in nine.

Londonderry got 23 points from Jake Coleman, who hit five 3-pointers and scored the final seven points of the game for the Lancers. Cole Britting and Matt Corey had 13 points apiece for Londonderry.

After Lebanon took an early lead, Londonderry led for most of the first half, but a 7-2 run by the Raiders made it just a one-point lead, 28-27, for the Lancers at halftime.

Lebanon retook the lead to open the third, but Londonderry took it right back and the teams went back and forth for the entire quarter.

An 11-1 run by the Raiders gave them their largest lead, 40-34, with 2:38 to go in the frame, but Londonderry answered with a 7-0 run to go ahead by one with 1:23 left in the third. The lead changed three more times in the final 78 seconds and Lebanon was up 45-44 going into the fourth.

The Raiders held the lead for most of the fourth, but a 3-pointer by Coleman tied it at 54 with 3:52 to play. A putback by Matt Eyelander put Lebanon back in front by two, but Coleman tied it again at 56.

A layup by Austin Whaley and a 3 by Matte put the Raiders up for good, 61-56, with 2:18 to play.

Manchester Central 65, Pelham 60

Keith Brown scored 41 points for the Pythons, but it wasn’t enough, as the Little Green were able to hang on down the stretch for the win.

Jaylen Leroy led Central with 21 points, while Jon Makori hit three 3-pointers and had 19 points and Evan Shea added 15 points, including four 3s.

Brown had 22 of Pelham's 28 points in the first half and made six 3s for the Pythons. No one else had more than four points.

The Little Green had a lead in the second and third quarters, but Pelham came back each time to tie the game at the end of the frame. The teams were tied at 47 going into the fourth, and Pelham took a brief 49-48 lead, but Central scored four straight points to pull back ahead.

The Pythons pulled to within 53-52, but the Little Green again scored four in a row to go back up five. Pelham was down 58-55 with a little more than a minute to play, but Central was able to get the rebound on a missed 3-pointer, and Shea hit a 3 at the other end.

Central scored again after a Pelham turnover to go up 63-55 with 39 seconds left and held on for the win.

Portsmouth 56, Merrimack 39

The Clippers went on a 13-1 run in the fourth quarter to break open a one-point game and rolled past the Tomahawks.

Cody Gramham led the way for Portsmouth, scoring 20 points, including three 3s, while Joey Glynn added 11 points and Shon Parham added 10 points.

Portsmouth led 16-10 after one quarter, but Merrimack went on a 7-0 run to take the lead two minutes into the second. The Clippers answered with an 8-0 run to go back ahead and led 26-22 at halftime.

The Clippers opened the third quarter with a 6-1 run to lead 32-23, but Merrimack got back in it with a 9-1 run of its own. A basket by Merrimack’s Ian Roberts to open the fourth made it a 35-34 lead for Portsmouth before the Clippers game-clinching run.

Zak Kerr led Merrimack with 11 points while Roberts had nine and Dan McKillop and Andrew Wojciak each had seven.

Trinity 59, Goffstown 57

The Pioneers were able to hang on for the win despite letting a 17-point lead in the third quarter disappear.

Trinity got out a 14-1 lead in the first quarter, but Goffstown was able to cut it to seven by halftime. The Grizzlies got within five early in the third, but the Pioneers went on a 12-0 run to lead 46-29 in the final minute of the third.

Goffstown was able to get back in it thanks to its outside shooting, as the Grizzlies hit five 3s in the fourth. The Grizzlies had a shot for the win, but Mike Bailey’s 3-pointer from the corner was off the mark.

Justin Trickett and James Santos each had 17 points for the Pioneers and Connor Walsh chipped in 14 points, going 7 of 8 from the line. The rest of the team was just 2 of 8.

Sam Heindenreich led the Grizzlies with 18 points, 12 of which came in the fourth, and Casey Gervais was also in double figures with 10 points.

Salem 58, Epping 54

Salem was able to get the win in the first game of the day despite not taking its first lead until 4:46 remained in the fourth quarter.

The Blue Devils trailed Epping by as many as 10 in the third, but closed the quarter on a 13-6 run to make it a three-point game. After Epping went up 42-37 to open the fourth, Salem went on a 6-0 run to go up one and held off the Blue Devils down the stretch.

Matt Vartanian led Salem with 14 points, including 6 of 7 from the free throw line, and Jared Gott added eight points, with two 3-pointers. Salem had 10 different players score.

Epping got 14 points from Tommy Bullock while Colby Wilson and Jackson Rivers each had 10 points.
