Dover beats Bedford to remain alive
NASHUA – The Bedford Post 54 baseball team lost Tuesday night, and might be in a better situation because of it. Bedford’s 4-3 loss to Dover Post 8 in the New Hampshire American Legion tournament means that Post 8 will have to play Rochester Post 7 at 4 p.m. Wednesday. The winner of that game will then have to play Bedford at 7 p.m. at [...]
Rochester turns tables on Coffey Post
NASHUA – The Nashua Coffey Post 3 baseball team stood around the visiting dugout at Holman Stadium Tuesday evening. Some players looked mad. Others had a look of disbelief on their faces. Who could blame them? Anyone who saw the 18-5 loss to Rochester Post 7 coming should probably go buy several lottery tickets. (more...)

American Legion roundup: Rochester moves on
NASHUA – Jarrid Nason likes to work quickly. Once the Rochester Post 7 pitcher found his rhythm, Concord Post 21 didn’t have much of a chance. Nason breezed through a complete game, allowing one unearned run on five hits and three walks, to help Rochester to a 9-1 win over Concord Sunday in the losers’ bracket of the New Hampshire [...]

Bedford hangs on to beat Dover
NASHUA – Tim Conway didn’t want to have to make a pitching change Saturday night, but it looked like he might have to. After breezing through six innings, Bedford Post 54 pitcher Joe Maher hit a bump in the seventh. Dover scored two runs on an error by Maher and a balk to make it one-run game, and with runners at the corners, Post 54 seemed [...]
Coffey Post offense explodes in win over Concord
NASHUA – The last eight days have been something else for Nashua Coffey Post 3. On July 15, Coffey Post was mercy-ruled by Derry, a team that won just six games during the regular season, and needed to win its final four games just to make the New Hampshire American Legion baseball tournament. Since then, Nashua has been cruising. [...]
Rochester, Sweeney stay alive at American Legion tournament
NASHUA - Sometimes a baseball game can change in a matter of seconds. Sometimes it takes one really long inning, loaded with runs. That was the sixth inning of Saturday's contest, when Lebanon Post 22 scored six runs in the top half of the inning to take a 10-3 lead only to walk six straight batters in the bottom of the inning as Rochester [...]
