Nordic Skiing: Concord girls win title

The Concord High School girls Nordic ski team won its second straight Division I title, recording 773 points to defeat Manchester Central (749) and Keene (746).

Manchester West (607) took fourth.

Division II

Hanover won its fifth consecutive Nordic girls title, recording 775 1/2 points, to finish ahead of second-place Lebanon (733 1/2). Souhegan (714) was third while Bedford (686) came in fourth and Kingswood (626 1/2) finished fifth.

Rachel Springman was the top finisher for the Sabers, coming in sixth in the Classical and finished 10th in the Freestyle. Marissa Ashcraft was 15th in the Classical and took eighth in the Freestyle, while Jordan Springmann came in 17th in the Classical for Souhegan and 21st in the Freestyle.

Katherine Benoit and Megan Lynch tied for 20th in the Classical, and Lynch was 25th in the Freestyle. Pia Marciano finished 14th in the Freestyle while Christina Clemence was 29th in the Classical.

Division III

Bow recorded 788 points to run away with the Division III girls title, with Gilford (731) coming second and Fall Mountain (726), the two-time defending champion, finishing third. White Mountains (703) was fourth and Belmont (658) came in fifth.

Division IV

Hopinton won its sixth straight Nordic girls title, recording 752 points to finish three ahead of Moultonborough (749). Derryfield (683) came in third, while Inter-Lakes (670) was fourth and Profile (660) was fifth.
