Milford boys and girls both take second at Class I

NORTHWOOD – The Milford High School boys and girls track teams finished second at the Class I championship meet on Saturday at Coe-Brown Academy.

Both of the Spartans teams came in behind Lebanon. On the boys side, the Raiders scored 93 points to win the Class I title for the seventh-straight season. Milford had 59 1/2 points to take second, while Bow was third and Souhegan was fourth. Bedford came in 12th and Hollis/Brookline finished 17th.

Lebanon won its third-straight girls title, recording 138 points. Milford took second with 67 points, while Merrimack Valley finished third and Coe-Brown came in fourth. Souhegan took ninth, Bedford finished 12th and H/B came in 18th.

Souhegan’s Michael Peret turned in the performance of the meet, winning the boys 100, 200 and high jump, and running a leg of the 4×100 relay, which also finished first. Peret also won four events at the indoor meet.

Milford got key contributions from Max Goudreau, Tom St. Cyr and Parker Lyttle, while its 4×800 team of Corey Hahnl, Nick Muller, Conner Crowley and Connor Jackson finished first and set a Class I record.

H/B’s Sean Quinn took second in the 3,200.

Milford’s Brianna Corron led the girls by finishing first in the 100 and the long jump. She also helped the 4×100 relay team take second, while Milford also won the 4×800 relay and took second in the 4×400.

Isabella Stuopis finished second in the shot put and fifth in the javelin for Souhegan. Ashlee Daoust led H/B with a fourth-place finish in the long jump, while Bedford’s Jenny Mara won the high jump.
