Sabers overpower Cavaliers

Devin Gilligan had 24 points and Brandon Len added 16 points to lead the Souhegan High School boys basketball team to a 65-40 win over Hollis/Brookline in BST Southern Division action on Monday at Rivier College.

The Sabers improved to 4-2 in the division while the Cavaliers fall to 1-5. Matt Haight led H/B with 12 points and Al Burgon had six markers for the Cavs. Souhegan opened the game with an 8-0 run and led 36-14 at halftime.

In the other game Monday night, Milford defeated Nashua North 52-40 behind 13 points from Jared Asselin and nine points from Logan Barlow. The Spartans are now 5-1 in division play.

North (3-3) got 11 points from Javon Williams and nine points each from Anthony Farmar and Jake Mellin.
