New Hampshire continued its dominance over Vermont in the Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl by using a run-heavy offense to grab a 34-20 victory in the 57th annual game. It was New Hampshire’s 10th straight win in the series, giving it a 42-13-2 record all-time against Vermont.
Souhegan’s Steven Jellison ran for 94 yards for New Hampshire, which committed seven turnovers and 18 penalties, including a game ejection for Milford’s Brian Airoldi.
Timberlane’s Derek Furey and Kennett’s Tanner Baillaregeon each had rushing touchdowns, while Nashua North’s Dylan Brodeur and Pinkerton’s Ryan Simpson connected on a 47-yard touchdown pass. Connor Lyons of Trinity also returned a kickoff 88 yards for a score and Plymouth’s Kyle McAuliffe returned an interception 90 yards for a score, setting Shrine record.
