Souhegan's Jane White was named Division II girls basketball Player of the Year.
Meghan Green and Jane White both helped the Bishop Guertin and Souhegan high school girls basketball teams, respectively, to championships this season. For their efforts, both were named Player of the Year in their division.
Green, a junior, led the Cardinals to their first girls basketball title and was named the Division I Player of the Year, while White, a senior, helped the Sabers win back-to-back championships and received Division II Player of the Year honors. Campbell’s Rebecca Arnone also received the Player of the Year award in Division III.
Those three were among six local players who received first-team honors this season.
Bishop Guertin's Meghan Green was named the Division I girls basketball Player of the Year.
Nashua North’s Katelyn Roeser joined Green on the Division I first team, while Bishop Guertin’s Jamie Sherburne and Alvirne’s Sandi Purcell were named to the second team. Kathrine Cole of Merrimack, Nicole Hayner of Bishop Guertin and Emily Boots of North were named honorable mention.
White was joined on the Division II first team by Hollis Brookline’s Katie Stopera and Kelsey Berry. Second-team honors went to Souhegan’s Tori Forrest, Bedford’s Haley Driscoll and Milford’s Dina Pitsas. HB’s Olivia Gillis and Bedford’s Rachel Collins also were named honorable mention.
Arnone and Campbell teammate Elizabeth Pettis both received Division III first-team honors, while Hannah Neild was named honorable mention.
Sami Bosquet of Wilton-Lyndeborough received Division IV honorable mention.
