Editor’s note: This will be a weekly feature taking a look at key games coming up during the following week.
Every high school spring sports team in New Hampshire gets underway this week, including the two teams that played for the Division I boys lacrosse championship last season.
The Bishop Guertin boys lacrosse team will host defending-champion Hanover on Monday at 7 p.m. at Stellos Stadium in a rematch of last year’s championship game.
While some coaches might balk at the thought of opening the season with such a difficult matchup, BG coach Chris Cameron isn’t too upset about it.
“I don’t mind it because it gets you more focused in the preseason,” he said. “You’ve got to be ready right out of the gate.”
Cameron expects the seniors in particular to be ready to go Monday night. During their careers, Hanover is the only team in the state to beat them.
