Before the season started, Bishop Guertin boys lacrosse coach Chris Cameron said his team could win or lose the No. 1 seed in Division I after its first three games.
That sounds like a little bit of hyperbole, but looking at the Cardinals schedule shows that perhaps its not.
BG (2-0) opened the season with convincing wins over Hanover and Exeter last week, scoring a combined 30 goals while giving up just eight. The Marauders and Blue Hawks – along with the Cardinals and Pinkerton Academy – are expected to be the top four teams in the division this year.
The Cardinals and Astros are scheduled to play on Thursday, at 4:45 p.m. in Derry.
Pinkerton (2-0) also has two lopsided wins under its belt – a 16-0 win over Nashua South and a 16-2 win over Manchester Central – and the Astros will play at Exeter on Monday.
While there’s a still plenty of lacrosse to be played, Thursday’s game really could go a long way toward determining who will earn that top seed.
