
Alvirne's Taylor Carbone was one of 12 local softball players to receive first-team All-State honors.
A dozen local softball players were named All-State first team, and 24 players total received All-State honors. Two local coaches also were honored as Coach of the Year in their respective classes.
In Class L, Alvirne’s Taylor Carbone, Nashua North’s Rebekah Jackson and Nashua South’s Kaitlyn Belair all received first team honors. Nicole Abreu (Alvirne), Chelsea Ogozaly (Bishop Guertin), Rachel Bohannan (Merrimack) and Aimee LaLancette (Nashua North) were named to the second team, while Stephanie Roy (Merrimack) received honorable mention.
Bedford coach Derek Geddes was named Coach of the Year in Class I, and two Bulldogs, Heather Fyfe and Casey Levis, were named first team. Joining them were Hollis/Brookline’s Katie Dion and Meghan Gervais along with Abby Douglas of Milford and Bree Gunter of Souhegan.
Christine Connors (Hollis/Brookline), Jackie Caswell (Milford) and Angela Mukai (Souhegan) were named to the second team and Morgan Mason (Milford) and Sam Jones (Souhegan) received honorable mention.
In Class M, Campbell’s Laurie Gatherum was named Coach of the Year while Julia Nolan and Chelsea Caynon received first-team honors. Campbell’s Erin King was named to the second team.
In Class S, Wilton-Lyndeborough’s Marika Thompson was named to the first team and Sam Broderick received second-team honors.
