The Bishop Guertin High School boys basketball team nearly pulled off a comeback for the ages Wednesday night in the Class L semifinals against Winnacunnet.
The Cardinals were down by as many as 23 points to the top-seeded Warriors, and rallied to make it a two-point game with three minutes left in the fourth quarter.
But the Warriors were able to hang on for a 63-56 win over No. 5 BG. Winnacunnet will play No. 2 Pinkerton in the final on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the University of New Hampshire.
