The Bishop Guertin High School boys tennis team moved on in the Class L tournament on Tuesday, while the boys from Hollis/Brookline saw their season come to an end in the Class I quarterfinals.
The Cardinals, seeded fourth in Class L, won five of six singles matches to knock off No. 5 Concord, 5-1. BG will now face top-seeded Exeter, which beat No. 8 Manchester Central 5-4, in the semifinals on Thursday at 4 p.m. in Exeter.
Also in Class L, No. 2 Londonderry defeated No. 7 Salem, 5-4, and will face No. 3 Goffstown, which defeated No. 6 Pinkerton 6-3, in the semifinals.
In Class I, sixth-seeded H/B fell to No. 3 Oyster River, 3-1. The Bobcats will take on No. 2 Bedford, which defeated No. 7 Souhegan 9-0, in the semifinals, also on Thursday at 4 p.m., in Bedford.
On the other side of the Class I bracket, top-seeded Pelham beat No. 8 Portsmouth 5-4, and No. 4 Hanover topped No. 5 Bow, 7-2. Pelham and Bow will meet in the other semifinal.
In the Class M-S semifinals, No. 1 Inter-Lakes knocked off No. 4 Berlin 6-3, while No. 2 Gilford defeated No. 3 Derryfield, 6-3. Inter-Lakes and Gilford will play for the title on Thursday at Plymouth State University.
