High school football championships heading to Saint Anselm College

Pinkerton won the 2010 Division I title in Derry. If it wins the 2012 title, it will be at Saint Anselm College.

New Hampshire high school football fans will get something they’ve been longing for in 2012 – two full days of championship games in one location.

The NHIAA announced in its March newsletter that the football committee had voted to move all six championship games to a neutral location, playing three on one day, and three on another.

Saint Anselm College will be the host for the 2012 football finals, and if the contract is “finalized as planned,” the Divisions IV, V and VI games to be held on Nov. 11 and the Divisions I, II and III finals scheduled for Nov. 17.

According to a football committee member, specific times and admission prices have yet to be determined. The agreement is just a one-year trial, but if it is a success, it will continue in the future.

The committee will also be finalizing its realignment plan for 2013 on March 30.
